Organizational Regulations
Chapter I General
Article 1 : These regulations are formulated in accordance with the guidelines of NSYSU establishment and abolishment for task-oriented centers.
Article 2 : This center is named “Research and Development Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, NSYSU” (referred as “The Center” hereinafter).
Article 3 : The goal of the Center is to advocate the research and development of nanoscience and nanotechnology. In the meanwhile, the Center accepts commissions of public and private institutions to promote the nanotechnology programs, broaden overall national nanotechnology, and advance academic levels.
Chapter II Structure and Duties
Article 4 : The Center consists of research and development group, education and training group, and planning and promotion group; in charge of the research and development about nanoscience and nanotechnology for different departments in NSYSU, the integration of education and training course, and the promotion and cooperation between NSYSU and other nanotechnology institutions.
Chapter III Organization and Budget
Article 5 : The Center includes a director who is a full-time professor assigned by the president of NSYSU to be responsible for the Center’s management. The director is a term of three years, and can be re-elected.
Article 6 : The Center sets a sectional leader for each group. The sectional leaders who are full-time professors or associate professors recommended by the Center’s director and appointed by the president of NSYSU.
Article 7 : The Center can form an advisory Committee to motivate the research and development, education and training, and planning and promotion. The Committee is formed by the scholars or experts who are recommended by the Center’s director and appointed by the president of NSYSU. The Committee members are unpaid positions but the meeting traveling expenses is allowed.
Article 8 : The Center is under self-sufficient operation. All the revenue and expenditure shall be integrated into the University fund, and based on the regulations of NSYSU.
Chapter IV Conference
Article 9 : The Center shall hold a regular conference to review the budget and projects of the groups of research and development, education and training, and planning and promotion. The Center’s director is chairperson of the conference.
Chapter V Supplementary Provisions
Article 10 : The Center shall submit an annual report every year.
Article 11 : The Center shall carry out self-evaluation and University evaluation every year; evaluating items and methods shall be formulated by related regulations of NSYSU.
Article 12 : The director may propose to abolish the Center when the established factor eliminates. If the ratings for consecutive two years are grade B or one grade C, the Center will be abolished.
Article 13 : The regulations of operation, management, self-evaluation, procedural rules and development plans may be prescribed by the Center.
Article 14 : These regulations and revision shall be implemented after reviewed by the Center’s committee meeting, and approved by the president of NSYSU.
